Bhutan: A Learning Journey
A Seven Week Study Abroad Programme

Druk Gyalpo’s Institute in partnership with Paro College of Education is offering a 7-week programme from 22 April to 12 June 2024. The coursåe will offer students around the world an opportunity to engage in and learn about the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of Bhutan, as well as the ways in which Bhutan is pursuing the distinctive path towards national development. On completion, a certificate is awarded, while credit may also be negotiated from the student’s own university.
The programme for this course is structured into three components, beginning with two weeks of online sessions. The participants will then travel to Bhutan for three weeks of in-person sessions which allows them to be immersed in the culture and life of Bhutanese society while pursuing a self-curated project. Participants will be taken on various excursions, such as to monasteries and museums, villages and farms, industrial sites, field trips and hikes. The final two weeks of online sessions will bring a conclusion to the course.
The course fee per participant is USD 2,900. The fees cover tuition fees, accommodation and meals during the in-person component of the programme, and costs associated with excursions and cultural activities related to the programme, including associated local transport.
